Charlton Carscallen, Principal Planner/Supervisor, provided an overview of the subject report noting that the property at 10254 Hurontario Street is a designated heritage resource. Council approval is required for alterations to a designated property and the Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) has determined that the proposed additions will have minimal impacts on the heritage attributes and are compatible with the architectural character of the building.
In response to comments, staff advised that construction work at the rear of the property which began a year ago did not require a heritage permit.
David Eckler, Principal, AREA, Architects Rasch Eckler Associates Ltd., was present for this matter and advised that a minor correction was required to the HIA to indicate that it was prepared by 10254 Hurontario Street Holding Ltd.
